Last month, at the September Youngstown Flea, I met Shauna Burton, the creator and owner of Scented Essentials. Her passion for candles started in 2015 with her company officially started in 2016. Her journey into candle making didn't start with candles, but with Lim Balm! Although the lip balm train was shorter lived, it lead Shauna to candles, soy melts and sprays in which every scented creation is her own.
While looking through her website or social media pages, you'll see one main theme across all of her products...SOY! If you're as unfamiliar with candle knowledge as I am, here are some fun candle facts about Shauna's soy candles :
Soy Wax burns slower than paraffin wax. This means that you will have a slower burn so your candles will burn for a longer period of time.
Say Wax candles burn cleaner which results in less soot in your home.
Soy Wax is biodegradable and does not require chemical amplifiers.
Shauna is one of the most passionate creators that I have been able to chat with. She has even described her home as "not a home but a candle making factory". She has created all of her scents, experimenting with each one before putting them out into the market.
