The 5 month old studio has already become a fan favorite for locals and Youngstown visitors alike. In their 2,000-square-foot studio, Common Goods has quickly become a central hub for small business owners, creators and supporters. Their space also includes a photo studio and a common space that often hosts craft and seasonal events for the public!
Common Goods Studio opened on February 1st, 2021 by Youngstown native, Sheri Bodo. This was no fast and easy opening for Sheri. With the building needing water, electric and a remodel from floor to ceiling, this space took months to create the studio that we see today!
Written in Mahoning Matters , Bodo states how important it is “now more than ever” for both small businesses and consumers to come together to keep the small business economics in Youngstown alive and growing. “Being on that track to revamping the area is something that I really want to be on and hopefully Common Goods Studio can aid in that,” she said. “We don't have a stipulation of how long you've been in business to be with us and be on our team,” she added. “We want to welcome everybody and grow together as a community, and we hope our customers also want to grow with us as well.”
Common Goods will be our Lounge Sponsor at The Block Party on July 10th, 2021. They will be partnering with St. Vincent de Paul to create a VIP tent and unique lounge areas throughout the street that attendees can use and purchase for later delivery! Common Goods will also be selling coffee, tea and water along with their merchandise and some featured items from small businesses that are on display in their shop.
